2 teachers for OCTOBER 1st
We are looking for native speakers of English from the USA, CANADA, AUSTRALIA, SOUTH AFRICA and the UK. Due to rapid growth, we are looking to add to our teaching staff immediately. ELC has been in Arequipa, Peru for over 13 years and has approximately 1000 daily students. Class sizes are 4 to 15 students, with an average class size of 10. We offer 18 days of adult classes per month (Monday to Friday) and 4 Saturdays per month for kids. Teachers usually have 3 adults groups per day/per monthly cycle. Adult classes meet for 2 hours per day with a 10 minute break during each class. Also, most teachers have a kid’s class on Saturdays (2.5 hours per week). We ask for a 6 month commitment, but will consider shorter commitments in special cases.
Peru is a developing country, so our students can't pay a lot for classes. Therefore we are not able to pay for airfare or housing. However, we do offer airport pickup, assistance finding a place to live, full orientation training, a fully developed professional curriculum with exams. Our teachers earn S/16 to S/19 (Peruvian Nuevo Soles) per hour (approximately $6 to $7.25 USD), with 110 to 120 monthly hours of instruction. This wage is four times the minimum wage in Peru, so while you won't get rich financially, you will be able to live comfortably on your wages and gain a wealth of cultural experience. ELC is also focused on providing our teachers and support staff with a friendly and supportive environment, including social events.
So, if you're ready to experience living in amazing Peru and working as part of a team dedicated to enhancing the learning of our students, send us a 1 to 2 page CV and a recent photo.
